KERMIT PROTOCOL DOCUMENTS AND DISCUSSION

This directory contains unedited, undigested, unorganized files regarding
the development of the Kermit Protocol after its initial definition was more
or less fixed by the publication of "Kermit, A File Transfer Protocol" in
1986.  Some of the features described here (streaming, resend) have been
implemented, others (e.g. full checkpoint-restart) have not even been tried
or discussed in public.

Also included is the final edition of the Kermit Protocol Manual from June
1986, which was the last online and publicly available protocol definition
before the book was published.  This is available in plain-text, PostScript,
and PDF format.

If I ever I have time I will try to organize and catalog these notes and
produce an updated Kermit protocol definition.
